Ibrahim Wanger Albert wrote:

Hi, guys —

  • What does the Catholic Church say about priests who have sex with married women? also
  • Will an order of annulment be given to a man found in such a situation?

Ibrahim

  { What does the Catholic Church say about priests who have sex with married women? }

Paul replied:

Dear Ibrahim,

Any man who has sexual relations with a married woman commits adultery: a serious sin. With priests, the scandal is magnified by virtue of their special ordination as a priest of God.

Priests can be suspended by their bishop or even laicized; but, as far as I know, there is no annulment process for priests.

Peace,

Paul
