Chris Savage wrote:

Hi, guys —

St Monica is said within Catholic circles to have wiped the face of Our Lord as he carried His Cross.

  • Is there a reference in the Scriptures where can I verify this?

Chris

Eric replied:

Chris,

You are thinking of Veronica, not Monica. The name Veronica means true image.

This is not in Scripture but is part of tradition with a little t. In other words, it does not belong to the Deposit of Faith.

Eric
